What is a good way to put items into LONG TERM MEMORY? Close the book, recall, write down what you remember.

one of the advantages of taking courses in a graduate degree program is the access and push i get from other students.  One of my colleagues, Kathleen, pointed me toward this article by David Glenn in the Chronicle of Higher Education

The action of trying to remember what we just read forces us to review the item, rather than just reviewing or reading our notes from the article.

So the information that we can apply in Relational Education, where students are independent, is to ask them to take frequent quizzes to reinforce their reading.
