If you were in high school, would you contact this guy if your teacher (me) said, "I'll exempt you from all assignments for the next two weeks if you contact the fellow, learn something interesting to you, and then report back to us about what yu learned from Scott." Would you choose several email exchanges with Scott, or would you do a chapter of math homework?

I hope he will contact me someday and become a mentor for some of my students.
