So for large format books the shipping increases the cost 8.5 by 11 inches

Why not get a free account and learn more? It's a reading exercise for students. Why not produce a book and then ask your students to set up a publishing account for you? You can enter the payment information, but the steps to upload and design a cover require some close reading.
